TO ALL INCOMING GRADE 9 STUDENTS 2008-2009...

GREETINGS!

It's Sunday evening here in Los Angeles right now, 04 July 2008...! I just closed access to the "ironic" blog topic and now I am writing the next one. You have until Saturday, 12 July 2008, to respond to this posting...good luck!

DRAMATIC IRONY - involves the reader (or audience) knowing something about what's happening in the plot, about which the character(s) have no knowledge; it can be used in comedies and tragedies, and it works to engage the reader, as one is drawn into what is happening; the audience may sympathize with the character, who does not know the true situation, or, the reader may see the character as blind or ignorant.

The clues may be rather obvious, but the character may be unwilling to recognize the truth; when the words and actions of the characters of a work of literature have a different meaning for the reader than they do for the characters; this is the result of the reader having a greater knowledge than the characters themselves.

"Focusing on any scene from this story, what good and clear example of a DRAMATIC IRONY can you give based on the given definition on top? Within the entire story, there are a lot of good examples to support this concept of Dramatic Irony, which is why this posting is going to be, as usual, another "first-come, first serve basis only" posting---this means that once an example has already been given, it cannot be used by anyone else. Please make sure to read the postings first before you put your own blog so that you will not end up wasting your time, okay...?!"

That's All Folks!!! Take care and be safe always. Post your comments below this blog where it says "Post A Comment". STUDY-STUDY-STUDY...but do not neglect to enjoy your vacation as well...! CIAO!!!

After Edmond escape from the jail and get the treasure, he went to requite the grace (goodness) of M. Morrel. He helped M. Morrel in another way when his bussiness broke as a English man. He support M. Morrel by money and strength after he known the goodness of M. Morrel and all thing he have done for him and his father when he was caught in jail.
Till the end when M. Morrel solve the problem of money he delay and when Pharron came back, he thought it was the miracle of heaven. What he doesn't know is that it was a gift and help from Edmond for helping him.

When Edmond is in jail for 13 years. Mean while, he learned something from the old man that he stayed with before he escape out. He learned how to use swords and fight with swords, he learned to move and catch something fast, he learned to protect himself, and etc. He doesn't know that things that he had learned had been used after he escapes out and prepare for revenge, but the readers know.

No body knew who the count of Monte Cristo accept Dantes him self. When he went back to see Fernand, Fernand has no clue that it was him. We, readers know that this is an advantage that will make Dantes revenge easier in terms of strategy.

When Dantes was question by Villefort ,he(Dantes) was sure that he had did nothing wrong and that Villefort would let him go but after Villefort almost sure that Dantes was innocent he had ask the last question and totally change every thing with ripping the package that Dantes recive.

A clear dramatic irony is that while Dantes was in jail. He met with the count of monte christo. The officer or the person that capture him don't know that they met each other and they also don't know that they are digging a tunnel to escape out of the jail.
